A Day In The Life

About Myself

My name is Oliver Scherick. I was born in New York, New York, on January 11th, 1996. I moved to Los Angeles, CA when I was five years old, where I went to the same school Wildwood K-12. I then decided to attend the University of Michigan. I am now a sophomore at Michigan Majoring in Sport Management, and Minoring in Writing. I have loved sports my entire life, especially basketball. I was the captain of my high school varsity team, and am on the club team here at Michigan. I also enjoy writing very much. Ever since I was a young kid I have had a strong passion for writing which led me to apply for the Minor in Writing at Michigan. As for my taste in music, I think it is pretty safe to say I am a big Beatles fan.

The Beatles were an English rock band that formed in 1960. The four members of the band consist of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.

The Beatles became one of the most influential rock bands of all time. They played a new style of rock and roll, and continued to push society's boundries.

The Beatles had an enourmous following. They are the best selling music artists in the United States, they have had the most number one albums and most sold singles in the UK, and have recieved 10 grammy awards.

"A Day in the Life" by The Beatles is the last song on The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonley Hearts Club Band Album. Written by, as most Beatle songs are, Lennon-McCartney, the song is unique in that it is made up of two disticnt parts, independently written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Lennon's verse focuses on contemporary newspaper articles, while Paul McCartney focus on his youth. The verses are linked by an orchestra glissandosand that was only added in after the song had been recorded.
